Project Description

SOMETIMES YOU SIMPLY CAN’T WEAR THE SAME DRESS FOR TWO WEDDINGS

Aoife wanted a dress that would be suitable for her wedding in Iran but didn’t want to compromise on the design, so in order to make her dress socially acceptable among the Iranian Men attending the wedding she needed a cloak to cover her head and shoulders. We made the original dress with a high neck and a sheer crinkle chiffon back, using a guipure lace trim around the neck like a choker. The skirt was made from silk organza with an organic cotton lining.

Later in the summer, in preparation for second wedding in Ireland (why have one when you can have two!) we made some alterations to the original dress, adding lace sleeves and replacing the organza in the skirt with a more floaty silk mouseline, which is like a chiffon but even lighter and more floaty.
