TESSA’S BESPOKE WEDDING DRESS STORY

Tessa and I grew up in the same town and when she got engaged a mutual friend recommended that she talk to me about making her dress.

We met and talked through her ideas. She’d seen a beautiful embroidered lace on another wedding dress that she really liked. It was quite tricky finding what she wanted as it was quite a new lace making technique that was slowly coming to the suppliers and so, just as she’d nearly chosen to go with another guipure style lace to create a similar effect a lace supplier came into the studio to show me some new samples and among the collection was exactly the style lace that she wanted.

The tulle that the embroidery was on was not fine enough for what Tessa wanted so we hand appliqued each piece of the lace onto a lighter tulle, giving us more option with the placement of the lace pieces.

She choose a synthetic crepe from James Hare (http://james-hare.com/) in order to keep the costs down a little, and to create a really subtle grey tint to the white dress we used a grey lining that only just showed through the crepe.

I love how understated and stylish Tessa and Keo look. What a gorgeous couple.
